The FFIT centre is available for use by a range of commercial organisations, societies, community groups and food businesses - for conferences, exhibitions, training courses, research and trials, food development programmes or regional meetings.
School Liaison and Educational Visits
Our Schools Liaison team focuses on raising young people’s aspirations and awareness of the career opportunities that exist within the land based industries, utilising the FFIT centre to showcase the need for innovation in agriculture and food technology.
The team is available to attend school career events, assembly presentations and progression events across the North West - to meet and advise students on Further Education (school leaver) and Higher Education (university level) study.
Farm Visits
In partnership with the College farm and Agriculture department here at Myerscough, we can offer a range of farm visit opportunities for secondary level pupils. We work closely with the North West Regional Education Consultant for the FACE initiative (Farming and Countryside Education). Options exist to investigate genetics, selective breeding and genetic modification, ‘Health, disease and development of medicines’, Biodiversity, eco systems and land use.
