HE Full Time Veterinary Nursing - Post Application Information

The Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing is one of the most popular and prestigious courses that we offer at the University Centre.

Now that you have submitted your application, it is important to do everything you can to; ensure that you have met the conditions of your offer, apply for loans or additional funds, apply for accommodation (if applicable) and prepare for your first day!

This page will provide you with additional information to support you on your journey to enrolment.

Your Work Experience

Many of you will be trying to secure enough hours within an appropriate Veterinary Practice to fulfil the 70 hours of work experience criteria.

Please remember that it is your responsibility to ensure that the evidence has been received by the Admissions Office before the deadline stated on your Offer Letter.

It can be forwarded to us via post or email:

Postal Address: HE Admissions, Myerscough College, Bilsborrow, Preston, PR3 0RY

Email Address: he@myerscough.ac.uk

If you are unable to gain work experience, you will be required to take part in a mandatory online conversation about Aspects of Clinical Practice with one of our specialist veterinary nursing tutors. This conversation will not impact whether you will get onto the course, or not, but will provide an opportunity to ensure you and other applicants know what the job of a veterinary nurse involves.

To arrange your mandatory online conversation, please send an email (including your full name, date of birth and contact number) as soon as you can to the Head of Area for Veterinary Nursing and Farriery, Claire Bloor: cbloor@myerscough.ac.uk . Claire will allocate a member of the veterinary nursing team to reply to you and arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet online.

Support With Finding a Placement

We understand that finding a placement, for when you start your course, can be very stressful and daunting for a lot of students, so the Senior Placement Officer has created this guide to support you through the process.
